Ten minutes from downtown Salt Lake City, only two minutes up 
Emigration Canyon in the mountains.

 From the city go east on 800 South, it will turn into Sunnyside Avenue and go past the U of U student housing on your left, then Hogle Zoo on your right and This is the Place Monument on your left, continue up the canyon less than two miles (notice the feeling of the city falling behind you) to Ruth's Diner which will be on your right.
